Ravioli Disaster
Yesterday I bought a cookbook with a bunch of recipes from Venice and the Veneto. In a moment of cookbook-picture-induced denial, I thought it would be a great idea to try to make some ravioli. This despite the facts that:
- Neither Hannah nor I had ever made pasta before
- The cookbook is in Italian
- The cookbook lists the recipe as complesso (complex)
- We had no idea what we were doing
Oops. Disaster ensued almost immediately. I made the filling, which turned out stringy and terrible, and Hannah made the pasta, which, shall we say, also left a bit to be desired.
Here’s a picture of some beautiful produce, some of which wound up in the ill-fated ravioli seen below.

Alas. The ravioli attempt may have been a disaster, but just think–
it makes a great story! I’m glad you are having fun in Venice. Thanks for
sharing pictures!
Love to you from Florida,
Amy

hahahahaha - kind of reminds me of that “concoction” dish we made back in college…..what’s more impressive is that it looks like you actually ate like a third of it before giving the thumbs down! :) Even though you can spare us the stories of abdominal discomfort, I can’t wait to see more of your dishes!
we miss you two!
